Easter Egg hunt

We have been on quite the sugar high this week with 2 birthdays and an anniversary that we didn't have anything for.  However we made up for it by making lots of cookies for a pack meeting, and then attended an Easter egg hunt.
A friend in our ward has put on an egg hunt every year.  It is big.  She hides 4,000 plus plastic eggs filled with candy.  She has done this since we have lived here.

We finally got to color our eggs today.  I usually don't do these on Sunday but for some reason we didn't have time till then.

Our own hunt with the these crazy four kids.

I tried to not do so much candy and bought them little Lego sets but it wasn't very successful.  Nathan ended up taking lots of candy to work with him one day so we wouldn't consume it all.

11th Birthday

Josiah is 11 years old.  He is a super fun kid and I love his sense of humor.  He has an awesome memory and can tell you any story anyone has told him with full detail as long as it was of interest to him.  His artwork is amazing.  He has had a hard time containing himself this week because of his excitement.

I found the trick candles that will light back up after you blow them out.  It was fun watching him.

Basketball Banquet

It is now offically the end of basketball.  Sadie was awarded MVP for the JV team.  She did great and we look forward to her playing  more next year.

I love this picture even though it it blurry.  She was beaming.  Her coach gave each of the girls bags of candy and a lot of it.  He also gave Sadie a Hogwarts t-shirt.  She will remembered as the avid Harry Potter fan.  She would read those books to all of the JV team on the way to games.

These three have been in school together since first grade.

Most of the JV team.  There were some who had to drop off the team because of schedules or grades.

Scouts and anniversary

Josiah and Jarom were loaded up with awards tonight at the pack meeting.
Jarom earned 5 awards and will be a Bear soon.  This gave him the right to hit the gong 5 times trying to send our poor scout master flying with it.

Josiah received his Arrow of Light along with a few other awards.  This was his last night as a cub scout.
I think he tried to hit the gong even harder than Jarom.  The boys loves this part.

There he is in his tan shirt, so excited about joining the 11 year old scouts.  It will be a fun group of kids.  He is the only one from our ward (congregation) so he meets with the other ward in our building.
We also had the pinewood derby for our two wards.  The three cars that Nathan assisted the boys with all came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Sadie made this first one a couple of years ago and never did anything with it so she raced a few kids after the boys were done.  Jarom is the middle one that came in 2nd.  Josiah's is the red which came in 1st.  They have a friend who came and worked on his too because his parents would prefer to not mess with it.

Some time during the day I think I saw glimpses of this handsome guy running around.  He set up and ran the races so he was off and running quickly after he was home from work.   I married the best man ever.  He does a lot for many people.   It has been the best 15 years and we plan to have many many more.   Happy Anniversary to us!

Birthday fun

I think Elijah had the best day.  Sadie was home sick so she played with him most of the day while I went to the school, shopped, and tutored.   She put puzzles together with him and they made a city of creatures to play with.
The sign to direct you to all of the crazy creatures and their homes.  They made a lot of them but here are only a few.   They spent quite some time playing with these creatures.

Elijah had school in the afternoon and brought cupcakes to share with his friends.

Then the real party began.  He requested a "Good Dinosaur" cake.   Again Sadie saved the day by putting most of the rocks on this silo.   In the movie the dinosaurs stored corn cobs in there.
The best part though was him being pleased as ever with the cake.  His response was "this is awesome" with a huge smile on his face.
Elijah is a neat boy.  I have so much enjoyed enjoyed being home with him.  He loves playing with cars, trains, dinosaurs, and his brothers.  He wants to do what they do all of the time, much to their chagrin at times.  He still loves to snuggle if you can get him to hold still long enough.   The boy does not stop moving unless you let him watch "Wild Kratts" on the computer.

I had to get this picture because we each ate one piece of the cake and this is what was thrown away.  We have two more nights of sweets in a row.

It's SPRING

I wondered if my garden would be untouched this year but not so.  This afternoon the boys went to town digging and running water throughout their holes while it was raining.  They got pretty creative this year. I don't think there is anything like mud.  They had a blast.  Sadie even joined in once she was home from piano lessons.

Josiah looks older in the this picture with his mud goatee and hair slicked back.

Science Fair 2016

Josiah did it again at the Science Fair this year.   He did his experiment on water rockets and sfter a few glitches his project was done.
We didn't get a picture of his materials so he drew them instead.

This was obviously a very exhausting project since he couldn't even stand up for the picture. Ha!

After all the work, a first place ribbon and trophy were awarded.  We had so much going on this night that a picture at the fair wasn't even thought of.

Last Basketball Game

Sadie played basketball for the middle school the last couple of months.  It has been so fun watching her that I never think about taking picture but then if I think about it my camera stinks big time.
She played point guard most of the time and played the whole time every game.

She is #13

She doesn't look thrilled but she really loves to play.  She says basketball is her sport.  At this point in this game they were down to three players on the court since the others all fouled out.  It was fun to have my Dad and Chris up here to watch.

Sadie is giving us a week break from sports then on to Track where she plans to try hurdles.

The Betta and The fish tank

We have had these big jars like forever and really haven't done anything with them except put change in one.  Well while Josiah was here...
