biking, exploring, cross country

This spring I ended up finding bikes for everyone in the family in hopes of going on a few rides.  We also found a different place to explore that we had never been to before on our Sunday walk.  Also, the kids could finally do sports for a short period of time at school.
This was a concrete building we found on our Sunday walk.  There was more to it as you went further back but we were too chicken to check it out.

Awards were given out at the end of cross country season.  It was a super short season but they were grateful to be able to participate in something even if it did mean wearing masks at times while running.

We were able to go on a family bike ride that was ended abruptly after Elijah crashed.  I am still in awe at where he was scrapped up since it was under his nose and in the crease of his chin.  He was so sore and I felt bad he had to deal with a banged up face for several days.  There are some good things about wearing a mask.

The kids and I took a ride near our house but decided that if we wanted to live any longer we better not take that route again.  There are some crazy people on the streets and they aren't friendly to bicyclist who are on a leisure ride.  We did have a great time regardless of all of the honks and hollers we got.

Prom

Our high school opted to not have a dance for prom this year because of COVID.  So they did a dinner.  Sadie and her friend Ali attended together.  They both looked great.  Sadie said it didn't turn out too bad.

Lake Angeles

I am not sure what is happening to the picture quality but it sure is terrible right now.  This was fun to hike to.  There is more of elevation climb but well worth seeing the ice/snow covered lake.  Ha ha!  We were surprised that it was still in ice and it was cold so we quickly ate dinner and headed back down.

Jarom turns 14

Lena Lake

Lena Lake is a fun quick hike.  It is 6 miles round trip.  This night we back up dinner and roasted hot dogs on a fire.  I love spending time in the mountains with my family.  Josiah discovered a month later that his pack still had all of the fixing for hot dogs including the left over hot dogs.  Needless to say they were not ediable even for our dog.  EW!

There were leaf faces all along the trail.  I thought it was our older two boys but it wasn't.  Now its become a thing for them to do it now.

Elijah's primary talk

Elijah gave the best post pandemic talk.  He pretty much wrote it himself and was the first to speak once we started second hour of church in the beginning of May.

Projects

We have had several projects the boys have been working on. Jarom built a forge and these dice are something he made with it.

Nathan bought a Toyota Celica at the end of last year that has been a great project for he and Josiah to work on.  They rebuilt the engine and got it running a month or so ago but discovered an oil leak recently so its back in the garage waiting to be worked on.

This video proves it is running.

lego weapons etc

Jarom and I were finding all of the weapons in their collection of Legos.  This isn't even a quarter of them.  We were seeing how many we could hold at a time.

watching reels

Can't remember why they were doing this.

I agree with this

Nathan made cheese cake for us and it was the best.

A funny meme that reminded me of my neice.

I have always like this

We have had some really neat sunsets

Elijah's first burn of the summer was a nasty one.  He is going to remember sunscreen now.

Sadie has a awesome amount of flowers around our house now.  These albino black eyed susans.  Well that is what we are calling them.

The Betta and The fish tank

We have had these big jars like forever and really haven't done anything with them except put change in one.  Well while Josiah was here...
