Jarom's birthday

Jarom is 9 years old.  He is such a loving kid by asking for hugs even if you will be gone for 5 minutes.  I love his smile.  He has become a hard worker this spring.   He is smart and creative.  I am so glad that kids are forgiving.  I have had no time to to shop or think much about his birthday.  I know that is bad but true.  The last two weeks have been especially crazy.  I ordered some presents on Monday and was promised they would be here on time.  One came the rest didn't.  I asked him the night before his birthday what he wanted for breakfast and I thought I heard him say "German pancakes."  Nope it was pumpkin muffins but the pancakes were made with no time to make the muffins.  There were a few others things that happened that didn't help the day.  Luckily I did good with the cake request and  getting ice cream sandwiches to his class on time.  Hopefully his other presents will arrive soon.

Good Lines

Just a few random saying from my kids and others.  

This is Elijah's response to filling out a mother's day card at his preschool.  I love my mom because "she typed in wild Kratts for me."  I honestly didn't know anything about these videos till Ivy mentioned it once in her blog.   Elijah is hooked and gets to watch them during the time I home school Josiah. 

Here are few answers Elijah gave about questions asked at preschool. 

What do you like to eat on Thanksgiving?  "mashed potatoes, cupcakes, muffins, and cookies"

What job would you like to do when you grow up? "I don't know"

What is love? "Sadie"  (he obviously likes his sister)

Jarom filled out a fill in the blank sheet at church on Sunday about his mom and this is what he said.  

Mom likes to say.. "clean".   (I think I do say that a lot lately)

She likes to eat "Mac and Cheese".  (not really my fav but it is his)

My mom's job is "cleaning the house."  

If she had time, she would like to "retire from her job."  (this is from cleaning not being a mom)

Mom is really good at "riding horses"  (it has been a long time since I rode)

Here is a great line from a service rep that called me after they looked at and fixed the brakes on my van.  We have had the same issue several times but luckily it has been on warranty.  He was trying to figure out why my rotors keep needing resurfaced so he asked me this question.  "Do you drive on a lot of hills?"  (I chuckle and have a hard time not laughing out loud) My response "I do live in B town and yes there are lots of hills here.  I have four kids I drive everywhere and if there is a hill to go up I will go up the hill to get there.  So yes I do drive up and down hills every single day."  The rep pauses because I suspect that he realizes what he just asked (silly) and what difference would it make anyway.  A car should be able to go up and down hills without ruining the rotors every few months.
