We spent 2 days in Pendleton with my Dad and Chris. I always love going home.

Then we spent 3 and half days in the Eagle cap wilderness backpacking. We started at Two Pan and headed to Mirror Lake. The next day we hiked up to Eagle Cap Peak and stayed at Mirror Lake again. The third day we went to Minam Lake and stayed there that night. We took David and Gideon along too. I really love to go backpacking. You can't get views like these without some work involved.
This bridge was a bit tricky to cross. Luckily there were logs to use just a bit upstream.

It was so cool to run into this guy. He served in the stake presidency with my dad. President Johnson was with the scouts from their ward. We kept running into them along the trail and we finally figured out who each other was.
I am so thankful for him and that both of us enjoy backpacking.

It was a little wet while eating dinner. The boys found a tarp they used as a porch area for their tent.
Jarom forgot his fishing pole and ran back for it.
Once we got back to the Two Pan trail head we met Katie to give her her boys then went to Walmart to get some supplies and breakfast foods then onto Haines for the Kerns family reunion. We had to take showers so bad so that took up a bit of time before we got settled into the place where we were camping. It was so fun to be with the Kerns family. I always enjoy visiting. The kids had a blast too. I will admit we were a bit tired of camping but we stuck it out even on the night it was windy and raining hard. I did a terrible job of taking pictures. Katie and Steve did a great job with the reunion.

It was mentioned that we looked like a refugee camp when we all tried to huddle under the shelter to eat dinner because it was raining hard the second night. Nathan and I were wishing we had packed everything up that afternoon. It isn't fun dealing with wet gear. Most people decided to stay at houses that night.
Sadie and Elijah were a few of those left after nearly everyone scattered to houses. The shelter was emptied quick. It was decided we should make a fire. Shortly after the fire got started it didn't rain. It was fun night with the few of us that were left. We were glad we stuck it out.
Boffer swords were a big hit as was whip making, poetry, and pine needle baskets.
The last day lunch. Sarah and Tia did this one and I thought it was cleaver to have taco salad in the Frito bags.
