Braces off for phase 1

Elijah got his phase 1 braces off.  He will get them again in another year.  He is the last of the four kids to get them. 

 

What to do with hair????

My hair is getting longer and I do like it, sometimes.  Sadie decided that I should try having braids one night to see how my hair would look in the morning.  It ended up not looking much different than usual so I didn't take a picture.  I have chosen to let my gray hair grow out and there is a lot of it.  It isn't going to be a fun process but it is time to stop paying the big bucks to color it all of the time.  Getting older is so fun.  

 

St. Patty's day

This is what was for breakfast and the older kids aren't thrilled anymore like they used to be.  It is different having mostly teens in the house.   Jarom says "oh this again".  Luckily Elijah appreciated it.  

 

Green Mountain Hikes

Towards the beginning of the year I decided that I needed to hike up Green Mountain once a week.   It is a 5 mile round trip but with enough altitude that I feel like I am getting a good workout.  Jarom has been the kid who will get up with my at 6 to go for the first few weeks.  We have a spot we take a selfie every single time.  Even though I do wish there were more mountains to climb within a 20 minute commute, I love this mountain.

Jarom and I found this stick with some crazy looking frost on it.  We have never seen anything like it.  We wondered if it had moss underneath it to make that design.  Who knows?

Elijah, Josiah  and Sadie were able to join in for a couple of weeks.  No pictures of the older kids since they go a bit faster than Elijah's shorter legs.

We were going great guns then I had to hurt my hip on April 5 while running so I haven't been up to the mountain since this last picture.  I had been running for a couple of months too and it was going so well.  .  Urgh!  I have been so frustrated with this injury.   Maybe next week I can get back at it.  

 

In person elementary classes

It has been nearly a year since this pandemic closed up schools here.  They finally started all elementary classes this week.  This kid was excited and so nervous to go back.  He needed though and had a great first couple of days of school.  He only attends two days out of the week but we will take what we can get.  

 

Snow Storm 2021

We got 8 inches of snow.  We didn't think we would get enough to do anything with but it was fun to have it around for at bit.

The street across from us has the best sledding when it snows.  It is a steep hill and its long.  

Our heater down stairs is the best place to put all of the wet clothes in front of. 

The snow didn't last long but Elijah made the cutest snowman today after it melted quite a bit.

Sadie

These two pictures are only a few years apart.  Ha Ha! They thought it would be fun to take the same shot.  Sadie doesn't seem to fit on her dad's shoulders as well as she used to.  I think both pics are cute.
