Nathan and I were able to go on our own back packing trip. Nathan has wanted to get up to the Mildred Lakes area for a long time. He had 2 other attempts but couldn't make it because of snow. The third time is a charm I guess. This trail is not for the faint of heart. It is not easy and you can get lost if you aren't paying attention. Most of it is just up and I mean straight up.
It was a bit cloudy but we could still get some good views of mountains around us.
Nathan checking to see where we are on the map.
We stayed at the first lake we came to since it was getting dark. It was a neat lake.
I love this photo. This is a prime example of what not to do with your food. There is a small white bag hung up next to the tent.
Another lake to view in the next morning.
We saw this on the way in and it was still sitting there on the way back the next day. We aren't sure how long those items have been there but it seemed like its been awhile. Nathan scored a nice cast iron pan from one of the lakes we visited.
There was some good par core workout going on. This was a really fun trip to take with Nathan. I sure love hanging out with this guy. What a blessing he is to me and our kids.
