Sunday walk

Even though they aren't walking at the moment we went to a state park where we used to go when the kids were all little.  It has been so fun to have everyone home this summer.

Sadie with crab.

Storm King hike

After dropping the young men off at their trailhead Sadie, Josiah and I hiked up Storm King.  It was well worth the hike even if that was one of the toughest hikes I have done.  It wasn't because of the hardness of the terrain its because I am so out of shape and my legs felt like lead the whole way up.  The views were so cool.  The way up can be tricky though.  There are ropes that you can hold on to so that you can get up better.  At the top there are a few sketchy areas of steep places.

young men 50 miler

Jarom and Elijah got to participate in a 50 miler with our young men's group.  I took them to the trailhead and it was fun to send them off (not that I wanted to send them off).  I think all of them had a good time.

Temple

Josiah received his endowments (made covenants with Heavenly Father). These are the only pictures I have.  I can't believe we didn't take any of us at the temple.  It was neat to have Sadie and Josiah in the temple with us.   James and Margorie came too, along with Calista and Ellen.  We had some awesome pizza afterwards.  It was kind of a crazy night and having a caravan home of three cars even made it more crazy.   Thankfully everyone made it back.

Ferry ride from Port Orchard

Everybody was checking to see if they could hold their heads up in the air while laying down.  We know how to have fun at this house.  Ha ha!

Sadie is HOME

I have been so excited for this day to come.  I remember coming off the plane from my mission and the anticipation I felt.  I was feeling all of those and more being on the parent end.   I am so grateful Sadie could serve a mission and for her growth.  She gave a fantastic talk that shows what a great missionary she was.  I will miss those Monday calls from her but it felt so good to give her a big long hug.  I love my Sadie girl.

Wood reunion

We spent the Wood reunion at a place near Eugene OR  It was fun to see everyone for a bit.  There was a serious game of corn hole that Jarom almost won.  Robert took a bunch of us fishing.  It was a fun place to be.  We weren't there long enough but we had good reason to leave early so we could go get Sadie.

New couches and paint job

I was able to do some painting while all of the guys went on church camp outs.  I repainted the living room, dinning room and hallway.  The pictures on the left are the darker color and the ones on the right are the new lighter color.  It is hard to see the differences but it does look so much better.  It was time to retire our 20 year old furniture.  They were showing their age finally.  I don't think I will ever find furniture that good that lasts.

The Betta and The fish tank

We have had these big jars like forever and really haven't done anything with them except put change in one.  Well while Josiah was here...
