Long Beach 2024

We took another trip to Long Beach this year.  Will this be the every other year place to vacation.  The place we stayed won't happen if we go again.  This time we had Sadie and no Josiah.  The weather wasn't in our favor most of the time but it was still relaxing and enjoyable.  

Home sweet home.  This trailer had some sinking in issues.  It will be interesting to see how long the owner can make this last.

Forks, WA

We had Nysa and her friend Avery come to Forks with us.  Nysa has been working in Bainbridge island at a nursery for an internship this summer and it happened to work out for them to come hang out with us.  This was a super quick trip but so fun to be able to do it.

BERRIES

Our raspberries have done so well this year.  I lost count on how many gallons were picked by us and others.  The strawberries are coming along with still lots to learn on how to make them better. 

Jarom made raspberry pie for our ward activity.  He didn't win the pie contest but putting more sugar next time should do the trick.  

 

Knee surgery

Elijah has been having trouble with his knee since last fall.  It kind of got better between Track and cross country but once he started running on it again this spring we had to have him looked at by an orthopedic doctor.  It was determined from the MRI that he needed to have surgery to remove a small mass that has grown.  Aside from Nathan he has been the only one in the family that hasn't been put out.  We hoped for some fun afterwards but sadly no silly videos to share.  The surgery went well and hopefully he can get back at doing everything soon.  It shouldn't take long.

Elijah all spiffed up and ready for church .  He is wearing Josiah's old suite and has hit 5 feet 9 inches.  I am officially the shorty in the family.

Here's to high hopes of lots and lots of strawberries and raspberries.  The raspberry plants look better than ever this year.

 

The boat

Jarom has taken to fishing lately and he wanted to get a boat.  I looked for some on Craigslist but then Nathan decided it might be fun to make one instead.  So Jarom and Nathan did just that.  It's a cool  boat.  Nathan made the oars for it too.
