Youth activities

The Wednesday before Easter I had a priest/laurel activity that our ward was in charge of. I got this idea from Nathan's dad.  This is a scavenger hunt to find the meaning of Easter.  I sent them all over the area near our church to find Easter in candy, flowers, baskets, grass, children, death, new clothes etc.... then we ended up at the church to an empty casket in the relief society room.  The main point was that the tomb was empty and that is the meaning of Easter.

We started our spring break out with a service project at the food line.  We had fun and it was so good for us to see this process.  Our jobs were labeling dates on the egg cartons, picking produce, stacking cans, and counting items.

A HUGE box

When you give two boys a HUGE box they will come up with this tank.  I am thankful that my kids can be creative and not rely on other things that tend to take that away.  If you let them get bored enough, Ha ha, they will come up with something to do.

Another Teen

Josiah had a birthday too!  He is such a good kid.  He has excelled in his drawing ability.  He is lovable and so kind to others.  He has a great sense of humor.  He writes papers very well which is a huge thing.

A birthday boy

This kid is "7".  He is fun, loving, kind, and smart.  He will not let anyone out of the house without giving them a hug (sometimes multiple times).  It was fun watching him open his presents.  He was most excited about his animal bots.  I am so glad he thought the cake was cool.  I had planned to make a flat R2 but after decorating cakes with the young women the night before I discovered that Colleen had many pans to choose from to make a 3D one.  It was fun and I love my kid's reactions when I can make the cake they request.

Before the rest of this cake was dumped Elijah put all of the clowns he got from decorating cake on it for a picture.  This was way too much cake for us to eat.

Cake decorating

For young women's our Relief Society president taught them how to decorate a cake.  We had some cute cakes come from these gals.  This was a fun night for all I think.  Elijah is so lucky to get to hang out with us every week.

Just keep Spinning

Elijah and I had some time to kill at a park while Sadie was at Drivers Ed class.  He made me sick watching him continue to spin turn after turn.

A mossy job

There is lots and lots of moss that grow in these parts.  It is so annoying that you can't stay rid of it once you kill it.  Oh no it still comes back to haunt year after year.  This year was really bad.  Our stairs and retaining wall were covered.  It will not come off of the wall with a power washing.  I have tried.  This time time I used wire brushes of varying sizes.  It was long tedious work and usually I couldn't stand it for longer than 2 hours at a time.  I would go out and scrub whenever I had the chance.  I don't have the full count of hours but it too forever.  I suspect at least 20 hours.  It looks so good though.

Pics it partially done.

It is DONE

The Betta and The fish tank

We have had these big jars like forever and really haven't done anything with them except put change in one.  Well while Josiah was here...
